01 — Thesis
Before intelligent cars arrive, we will have built the highways.
Teleoperation lets a person do physical things in a place they can’t be. We’re building two programs on it: paid work for people with disabilities, and visits for older parents who live far from their children.
Program 01 · Remote work
“I can look through her eyes — and work through her.”
Gio uses a wheelchair and lives in Los Angeles. In this film he works from home, operating a humanoid robot that picks items in a store and carries an order out to a customer’s car.
Program 02 · Companion
“You picked a good night.”
For older parents who live far from family. A son across the country puts on a control glove, and the robot at his father’s house answers the door, hugs him, and stays to watch the game.
03 — Three layers
A person takes a shift from anywhere. Judgement and courtesy come free; the body is somewhere else.
Session routing, latency management, safety envelopes and the data record of every task. The layer we own.
Third-party humanoids and quadrupeds, operated rather than built. As autonomy improves, more of the shift runs itself.
04 — Mission
Everyone deserves the opportunity and right to work — regardless of physical ability or location.
